The project supports companies and stakeholders in moving towards industrial transformation that is not only technologically advanced, but also human-centric, sustainable, resilient and competitive. By developing practical tools, frameworks and engagement pathways — including Compass 5.0, I5.0 RoX, workplace innovation guidance, policy briefs, a roadmap, a Digital Co-learning Platform and an Ambassador Programme — INCENTIVISE5.0 will help Energy Intensive Industries understand, assess and implement Industry 5.0 in real industrial contexts.
Running from June 2026 to May 2028, the project brings together nine European partners to connect research, industry, policy and social dialogue, ensuring that Industry 5.0 becomes meaningful, usable and impactful across Europe’s process industries.
The project will:
Develop Compass 5.0, an operational framework to help EIIs understand, assess and guide their Industry 5.0 transformation.
Create the I5.0 RoX evaluation model, supporting companies in demonstrating value beyond traditional financial return.
Identify the preconditions, barriers and enablers for Industry 5.0 adoption across key EII sectors.
Support radical workplace innovation, linking technology deployment with skills, worker wellbeing, participation and organisational change.
Strengthen stakeholder engagement and capacity building through workshops, policy dialogue and sectoral exchange.
Launch a Digital Co-learning Platform to share tools, learning materials, policy briefs and project outputs.
Mobilise an Industry 5.0 Ambassador Programme to promote, translate and embed results across industrial and stakeholder ecosystems.
Produce policy briefs and a roadmap to support long-term uptake of Industry 5.0 in Energy Intensive Industries.
Ensure project results are widely disseminated, exploited and sustained beyond the project lifetime.
By combining human-centricity, sustainability, resilience and competitiveness, the project will support industrial actors in understanding how new technologies, workplace innovation, skills development and organisational change can work together to create long-term value. Its tools and frameworks — including Compass 5.0 and I5.0 RoX — will help companies assess where they are, identify what needs to change, and make a stronger case for investment in Industry 5.0 transformation.
The project will also strengthen the wider European ecosystem around Industry 5.0 by engaging companies, sector organisations, policymakers, researchers and social partners. Through the Digital Co-learning Platform, policy briefs, roadmap, Ambassador Programme and dissemination activities, INCENTIVISE5.0 will ensure that its results are visible, accessible and reusable beyond the consortium, contributing to a more human-centric, sustainable, resilient and competitive future for Europe’s process industries.
The project seeks to move beyond isolated technological innovation by showing how industrial transformation can place people, sustainability, resilience and competitiveness at its core. It will support companies and stakeholders in understanding how Industry 5.0 can strengthen productivity, improve workplace innovation, enhance skills, support decarbonisation and circularity, and build more adaptable and future-ready industrial ecosystems.
Through its tools, frameworks, roadmap, policy work, Digital Co-learning Platform and Ambassador Programme, INCENTIVISE5.0 aims to create a shared European pathway for Industry 5.0 in Energy Intensive Industries — one that helps companies act, supports policymakers with evidence, and empowers stakeholders to shape a more human-centric and sustainable industrial future.
The project will co-develop Compass 5.0, an operational framework to guide companies and sectors in assessing and planning their transformation. It will also create the I5.0 RoX evaluation model, helping demonstrate the value of Industry 5.0 investments beyond traditional financial indicators.
Through research, stakeholder engagement and workplace innovation activities, INCENTIVISE5.0 will identify key barriers, enablers and preconditions for change across Energy Intensive Industries. The project will organise expert exchanges, stakeholder dialogues and capacity-building activities to ensure that its outputs are grounded in real industrial needs.
To support knowledge sharing and long-term uptake, the project will launch a Digital Co-learning Platform, develop policy briefs and a roadmap for Industry 5.0 in EIIs, and mobilise an Industry 5.0 Ambassador Programme. These actions will help translate project results into sectoral contexts, connect with policy and industrial stakeholders, and ensure that the project’s outcomes remain visible, accessible and useful beyond the consortium.
