A.SPIRE October Events: Process Industry Strategy & Foresight Conference

A.SPIRE is organising the Process Industry Strategy & Foresight Conference on 22 October 2025 in Brussels. The event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels City at Rue de la Ginestre 3 (1210, Brussels).

Under the slogan Building a new European Partnership led by the Process Industry, the conference aims to constructively discuss the shift in the global paradigm that impacts the geoeconomic context, identifying the challenges, opportunities and solutions to strengthen the energy-intensive industries sectors.

On 22 October, in the morning, the Process Industry Forum, Challenges and Opportunities, will gather industrial companies, sector associations and representatives from the European Commission in a dialogue, which will include a vision for the future, sector perspectives, and a strategic discussion on R&I pathways to ensure sustainability, scale-up, and deployment. Insights from the forum will contribute to the Vision document for the new Partnership (2028–34).

In the afternoon, The Future of the Process Industry R&I, Foresight Workshops: Solutions will gather all A.SPIRE members and stakeholders of the European process industries ecosystem to discuss the Transition Proposal (one of the three main building blocks of the A.SPIRE proposal for a new Partnership led by the process industry). The workshops will focus on aligning the identification of state-of-the-art technologies with a forward-looking foresight perspective.

The afternoon programme will debut with a plenary session that will discuss the resilience and competitiveness of the European process industry, and continue with the workshops, which will address themes like competitiveness, circular economy, the strategic autonomy of Europe and the reduction of GHG emissions and harmful substances.

Feedback from these thematic workshops will be taken into account in the update of the Transition Proposal, which will form the basis for the development of our new SRIA.

On 23 October 2025, the A.SPIRE's yearly Brokerage, dedicated exclusively to our members, will take place. This event brings our members together, providing them with a platform to present their project ideas and build strong consortia for the Processes4Planet 2026 calls.
