Join A.SPIRE and help shape Europe’s industrial future!

A.SPIRE is pleased to announce the launch of its revamped new Working Groups, a strengthened and fit-for-purpose structure designed to support the development and implementation of the next Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the future industry-led European Partnership (2028–2034).

This is a key moment for process industry companies and technology providers, as well as research and innovation organisations that want to influence European industrial innovation priorities, contribute to the green and digital transition, and play an active role in shaping the next generation of EU-funded research and innovation activities.

New Working Groups to develop the next R&I Agenda of the process industry

In 2026 and 2027, A.SPIRE will develop a new Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) as the basis for our future European Partnership led by the Process Industry (2028–2034). The development of the SRIA is based on the new A.SPIRE Vision (currently being finalised) and the four transition pillars defined in 2024. The scope of the innovation areas to be addressed under the new SRIA differs from that of the current P4Planet SRIA. Considering this, A.SPIRE updates its Working Groups.

The revamped structure consists of:

  • Five technical core Working Groups:

  • WG 1 – Energy and CO₂

  • WG 2 – Materials circularity & efficiency

  • WG 3 – Use of bio-based feedstock

  • WG 4 – Reduction of emissions and of substances of concern

  • WG 5 – Materials, products & processes innovation

  • Two transversal Working Groups:

  • WG 6 – Innovation for competitiveness and sustainability

  • WG 7 – Support the strategic autonomy of Europe

The Advisory and Programming Group (APG), in its renewed form, will continue to play its essential role in shaping future P4Planet calls and the SRIA for the new industry-led Partnership.

A great time to join A.SPIRE

A.SPIRE launched calls to its members to express their interest in contributing to this strategic exercise, either as Working Group members or by applying for Chair/Co-chair roles and joining the Advisory and Programming Group.

Prospective  A.SPIRE members can immediately apply to join the association and our new Working Groups.
