The SPIRE Progress Monitoring Report 2019

On an annual basis, A.SPIRE highlights the growth of the cPPP achieved until the end of the previous year, in its SPIRE Progress Monitoring Report (PMR). The new edition for 2019 is now available and covers the main activities, the achievements of SPIRE during the year itself, as well as the overall performance of the initiative since launch at the end of 2013.

During 2018, SPIRE funded 12 new projects under three Horizon 2020 calls. The projects involve 159 organisations, and have a combined budget of approximately €122 million of which the EU contribution to the projects is €95 million.

Up to 31 December 2018, SPIRE has funded a total of 89 projects, of which 88 started before 2019, with a combined budget of €618 million (of which €532 million come from the EU), and participations from 938 different organisations, including 612 from private companies. Out of the 88 projects, 18 have already been completed

The measured performance of SPIRE has improved considerably since the last PMR reporting period. Analysis of the progress in 2018 indicates that SPIRE is on track to meet or exceed all its contractual targets.
