The SPIRE Progress Monitoring Report 2018

The SPIRE Progress Monitoring Report (PMR) 2018 is now available and highlights the growth of the cPPP over the twelve months to 31 December 2017. The document covers the main activities and achievements of SPIRE during the year itself and also the overall performance of the initiative since launch at the end of 2013. Project success stories are also included.

During 2017 SPIRE funded 23 new projects under nine Horizon 2020 calls. The projects involve 287 organisations, over a third of which are SMEs, and have a combined budget of €166 million of which the EU contribution is projects is €144 million.

Up to 31 December 2017 SPIRE has funded a total of 76 projects, of which six have completed, with a combined budget of €500 million (€439 million of which comes from the EU), and participation from 781 different organisations including 521 private companies.

The measured performance of SPIRE has improved considerably since that last PMR reporting period. Analysis of progress in 2017 indicates that SPIRE is on track to meet or exceed all its contractual targets.
