A.SPIRE Advisory and Programming Group (APG) and Partnership Board (PB) rotation: a call for expressions of interest 

As presented in the General Assembly meeting in June, we are launching a process to prepare for the bi-annual rotation at the APG and Partnership Board. The principles of rotation are defined in A.SPIRE’s Internal Rules and the Terms of Reference of the Partnership Board, and establish a rotation of at least 25% of the APG and PB members to take place bi-annually. The current APG and Partnership Board composition was granted a 2-year mandate that expires in January 2024. A rotation of at least 25% of the APG and PB members (5 representatives in each case) is due in January 2024. 

While some changes in the composition of the group have taken place over the year, we are launching a call for expressions of interest for A.SPIRE members to join the Advisory and Programming Group (APG) as part of the rotation to reach 25%.  

WHO CAN APPLY? 

Participation in the APG and P4Planet Partnership Board is open to all A.SPIRE Members, except for Associate Members that cannot take a leadership position that requires voting and are eligible to be nominated for the position of APG member. 

Note that different positions within APG have specific expertise and time dedication requirements. An overview of each position's requirements can be consulted in this document.

HOW TO APPLY? 

Submit your expression of interest online: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/APGrotation 

Provide sufficient information about expertise and skills related to the scope of the APG’s activities. Specific position(s) will be proposed to pre-selected candidates aiming for gender equity, sector, and geographical representation and depending on the candidate’s expertise as well as on the vacant positions. 

TIMELINE & APPROVAL 

The deadline to submit expressions of interest is 15 September 2023.  

A list of candidates for the rotation at the APG will be submitted for BOD approval in October 2023. A.SPIRE Board of Directors will approve selected candidates and the final rotation of APG and PB. A new mandate for APG and PB members will start in January 2024. 

Events  

A.SPIRE Brokerage – 20th of September (8h30 - 13h), Brussels 

The brokerage is taking place on the 20th of September in Brussels. The event will provide additional value to A.SPIRE members regarding their preparation and participation in 2024 Horizon Europe calls, especially the Processes4Planet calls (but not only). The Brokerage will open with an overview of the Processes4Planet topics for 2024, followed by pitches. The pitches will then be complemented with networking tables, where interested parties can match. All A.SPIRE members are invited to pitch. In case you want to pitch, you need two registrations: one to attend the event, and the second to pitch. The Brokerage is open to A.SPIRE members only. 

 Processes4Planet Projects Forum – 20th of September (13h – 18h), Brussels 

The Processes4Planet Projects Forum is taking place in the afternoon on the 20th of September 2023, in Brussels. The objective of the Processes4Planet projects forum is to advertise and make known the current Processes4Planet projects. Moreover, the Projects Forum seeks to pave the way for creating or enhancing synergies and actionable pathways for projects to maximize the impact of the SPIRE and P4Planet partnerships. The projects forum is a public event for project teams, consortia members, institutional stakeholders, and others. The event consists of 4 thematic panel sessions (circularity, energy, decarbonization, and improving deployment) and a networking/poster session. P4Planet and SPIRE projects are eligible to be represented in one of the panels and to bring a roll-up to the networking/poster session.
